A dealer documentation fee is a charge that covers the handling, preparation, and submission of paperwork involved in processing your vehicle purchase. It is a standard fee dealerships apply to every transaction. In the state of Ohio, dealer documentation fees are regulated and capped by state guidelines. Our documentation fee is calculated at 10% of the vehicle sale price, up to a maximum of $398. For vehicles where 10% of the sale price is less than $398, the documentation fee will be prorated to reflect the actual 10% and will not exceed that amount. For vehicles priced at a level where 10% of the sale price would exceed $398, the documentation fee will never exceed $398 — the $398 maximum is an absolute cap.

An electronic title convenience fee is a charge for the electronic submission of a title application and related documents on the customer's behalf via a secure provider authorized by the registrar.

A temporary tag fee is a charge for dealers to print, issue, and legally place a temporary license plate on a vehicle at the time of sale. This allows the buyer to operate the vehicle legally while waiting for permanent registration. This fee does not apply when you transfer plates from a previous vehicle.
